PhotoNapoli is the result of the meeting of two photographers: Nicolas Pascarel and Giorgio Cossu. Their experiences in the field of photography, one for documentary and the other for ethnographic photography and publishing projects, have crossed to give life to this workshop.
The objective of PhotoNapoli is to regularly invite a small group of photograph enthusiasts who wish to deepen their knowledge and experience the strong contrasts of the city of Naples, in the south of Italy.
During five days participants will explore different parts of the city and its bay, accompanied by Nicolas and Giorgio to collect the photographic material in order to build a story that takes place in this Mediterranean land.
We will explore places known and unknown in the Gulf of Naples in order to convey a personal point of view of the author to wonder through the streets of the city center, from Spaccanapoli the Spanish quarters. You will reach the historic and cultural points of interest, like the island of Procida, the Italsider’s industrial remains, Vesuvians archaeological sites and the Campi Flegrei.
The first day, considering this route, each participant must choose a personal subject to follow and the final result will be presented on the last day for the rest of the group showing a selection of about 20 images.
Contact with Nicolas and Giorgio will be continuous, in fact both will be available to participants 24 hours a day. The group will move together to have a continuous confrontation on the field. Two nights will be organizing projections, a slide-show to comment on the work done together and to direct the work of each.
This workshop is a photographic adventure, but also a human experience.
Participants will be accommodated in the same Bed & Breakfast in which the cost is included in the price of the workshop. This property is located in the most exclusive quarter of the city in a convenient location near the sea and 5 minutes from the historic center. All sites of cultural interest are within walking distance or public transportation in within walking distance.
The cost for the five days of workshop* is 700 € including accommodation in single and double room with breakfast, Internet access through fiber optic 24 hours a day and phone calls to the fixed network.
Nicolas and Giorgio speak French, Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese. Is possible to book a workshop for a whole group of friends who speak the same language.
Anyone may participate with either analog or digital equipment. Per the request we could supply the equipment for the development of black and white, while the chemical material will be supplied by the participant .

* Participants may, on the spot, choose to extend their workshop for two days with a cost of 250 €. This option is also applicable to a single participant in the group and can also be discussed at the end of the first five days.
